<strong>China: Chuanyu Developed One New Type Oral Tobacco Product</strong>

Recently, R&D of China Tobacco Chuanyu Industrial Corp.(Chuanyu) released that the company has successfully developed one new type oral tobacco product. This new type product shape likes sugar, and tar content is zero, and it is not only can bring physical satisfaction for consumers, and safer and longer shelf life compared with the traditional oral tobacco products.

In early 2014, in order to speed up the research and development of a new type tobacco products, Chuanyu set up the new leading group for new type tobacco product, developed a five-year plan, decided the oral tobacco products, electronic cigarette, and heating not burning cigarette and other new type tobacco products for research direction. For six months, the team member worked together, carried out series of technical innovations from the design concept, process and harmful ingredients release, has overcome difficulties and achieved success finally.

According to report, the traditional oral tobacco product has hundreds of years of history. The tobacco is ground into powder, and mixed with salt, water, and flavoring substances, etc., through high temperature sterilization or fermentation, then become final oral product. The study confirmed that the traditional oral tobacco product contents higher and uncertain nicotine, and the shelf life is only three to six months.

The new oral tobacco product developed by Chuanyu, is adopted steam distillation extraction technology for the first time in domestic tobacco industry, extracted free nicotine and more than 20 tobacco characteristic flavoring substances from tobacco leaf, and mixed them with sweetness sugar-free materials perfectly, became the final product. After testing, this kind of product without any additives and organic solvent residues, can accurate release certain nicotine level, and its taste is pure and sweet, only 50% of the sucrose sweetness, and the shelf life is at least 24 months. At present, the technology has applied 9 national invention patents.

It is understood that Chuanyu currently is promoting the development work of gum type oral tobacco product, in order to further enrich the new type oral tobacco varieties. Enditem
