NJOY Appoints John Bax as Chief Financial Officer

NJOY, the country's leading independent manufacturer of electronic cigarettes, today announced the appointment of John Bax as the company's chief financial officer (CFO). Mr. Bax will report to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Craig Weiss and oversee NJOY's financial management and planning.

"As the only electronic cigarette brand whose corporate mission is to obsolete cigarettes, NJOY is committed to delivering to its customers truly superior alternatives to traditional combustible tobacco," said Craig Weiss, CEO of NJOY. "We continue to innovate at a remarkable pace as more and more smokers turn to our products as an alternative. The addition of John to our senior executive team is an exciting development that will enhance our leadership at an important time for our company. John has a wealth of experience in corporate finance, strategy, and business development ranging from high growth startups to the world's largest company that will help us invest and manage our financial resources prudently while strengthening our balance sheet to ensure our continued growth and success in the near and long-term."

Mr. Bax was most recently the CFO of LivingSocial, headquartered in Washington, DC. Prior to LivingSocial, he was the CFO of RecycleBank, the New York based merchant-funded recycling rewards program named the top venture-backed clean-tech by the Wall Street Journal. He also served as Vice President of Planning and Analysis for Wal-Mart Stores and CFO of Walmart.com.

Mr. Bax commented on joining NJOY, "I am absolutely thrilled to join NJOY as the company's CFO. This category is robust and competitive, but our approach to the market, strong product development pipeline, and thought leadership on key scientific and research issues distinguishes us as the leader in the space. After meeting with Craig and the senior management team, it was clear to me that NJOY is a mission-driven company that will continue to put a larger and larger dent in smoking in the US and beyond and I'm thrilled to help lead this effort. And personally I find it quite gratifying to be a part of something that has so much potential to improve the lives of the millions of smokers who are determined to find an alternative to smoking."
