<strong>China: HongyunHonghe Holds Meeting on Lean Management</strong> Source from: HongyunHonghe Group 04/15/2014 ![]() HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – held a meeting on April 9 to kick off the process of lean management at the enterprise, explaining the great significance of lean management and making specific arrangements for introducing lean management. Attending the meeting were HongyunHonghe leaders including Wu Yi and He Guogang; Board of Directors Secretary Luo Jianhua; the relevant leaders of the various centers, departments and offices of HongyunHonghe, the directors and deputy directors of all production factories of HongyunHonghe specifically in charge of corporate management and production, et al. Speaking at the meeting, leaders of the Economic Operation Department of HongyunHonghe read out the scheme of HongyunHonghe for introducing lean management in terms of the status quo and situation, policies and targets, contents and requirements, and organization and guarantee. HongyunHonghe Deputy CEO He Guogang delivered a speech titled Systematic Planning, Highlighting Priorities, and Full-Scale Promotion in Striving to Promote Lean Management at HongyunHonghe to Higher Levels, making specific arrangements for the construction of systems for lean management, application of methodology and key points of the work hereof. Kunming Cigarette Factory Director Fan Xiao introduced experience in promoting lean management, and proposed taking the three jobs of TWI training, AKT self-improvement and lean management 6S as leading approaches for in-depth promotion of the work of lean management. Meanwhile, the relevant leaders of Honghe Cigarette Factory, Qujing Cigarette Factory, Huize Cigarette Factory, Xinjiang Cigarette Factory and Ulanhot Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe also exchanged views and delivered speeches on promotion of lean management. In a concluding speech delivered at the meeting, Wu Yi interpreted the characteristic of lean management, and pointed out that lean management is a management conception linking strategies at higher levels and involving management at the grassroots level, saying that lean management is of inclusive and functional roles, with the core being elimination of waste and creation of value. Wu Yi required the entire workforce to make a use of the way of thinking of lean management in finding out problems, in accurately analyzing problems, and in accurately solving problems. Therefore, it is essential to take lean management as an important approach for promoting corporate management at higher levels and for launching activities of creating first-rate successes in corporate management, and to integrate lean management in day-to-day management. He expressed the hope that the management staff of HongyunHonghe will set up correct ideology, will be opposed to superficial behavior, window dressing and quitting in front of difficulties, and will play a leading and guiding role. For employees of HongyunHonghe, they shall actively participate in and respond to lean management, pool together their wisdom in lean management and make contribution to lean management. The entire workforce shall keep promoting basic management at HongyunHonghe to higher levels by means of practically, specifically, deeply and thoroughly executing lean management, to promote intensive and high-efficiency business development of HongyunHonghe.
