UK: E-cigarettes Giant Ready to Light up London

Major UK landmarks including iconic buildings in London could be lit up like giant electronic cigarettes in plans unveiled by leading e-cigarette brands Nicolites and Vivid Vapours, it was announced today (April 1).

Nicolites and Vivid Vapours branding could light up Big Ben, Nelson's Column and Battersea Power Station while part of Stonehenge could resemble a giant electronic cigar.

Nicolites is also considering projecting adverts on to the White Cliffs of Dover to greet passengers travelling across the Channel by ferry. Discussions are also taking place to see if the Angel of the North could hold a giant e-cigarette.

Managing director Nikhil Nathwani said: "We've really stepped up our advertising campaign and we decided to look at iconic buildings and landmarks that we could easily adapt to look like giant electronic cigarettes.

"The four towers at Battersea Power Station are perfect and could even be converted to emit vapour just like our market leading e-cigarettes. Our branding along the full height of Big Ben would make a fantastic impact too, right in the heart of the capital. We're also in talks to change the look of one of the giant stones at Stonehenge to resemble an enormous e-cigar. I can't believe no-one has thought of it before."

News of the new advertising campaign comes after recent major deals which mean Nicolites are now stocked at all the UK's major supermarket chains including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons, as well as by two major national pub chains.

Superdrug, Co-op, WH Smith, Martin McColl and over 10,000 independent pharmacies and convenience stores also stock a combination of Nicolites and Vivid products and the company recently announced it has expanded into Europe with products stocked in Poland and Portugal.

E-cigarettes are designed to look and feel like real cigarettes, but are battery-powered products containing a nicotine solution which is inhaled as a vapour. They contain no tobacco, no tar, and do not burn like traditional cigarettes. Enditem
