<strong>China: National Tobacco Corporation Makes Decision on Rewarding Scientific-technological Achievements</strong>

China National Tobacco Corporation adopted a decision on January 2 to reward scientific-technological achievements for 2013, in accordance with the Specific Rules for the Measures of China National Tobacco Corporation to Reward Scientific-Technological Achievements, and after review and public announcement by the Science and Technology Committee of the corporation.

In the decision, China National Tobacco Corporation decides to grant a Grade One Prize for Scientific-Technological Progress on the project of Research, Generalization and Application of the Technology of Using Aphidius Gifuensis Ashmead to Prevent and Control Tobacco Aphids; a Grade Two Prize for Scientific-Technological Progress on each of four projects including the project of Research of Systems of Raw Materials for Orientation of Brands; and a Grade Three Prize for Scientific-Technological Progress on each of 17 projects including the Research of New Material Intensive Curing Barns and Their Supporting Curing Technologies.

Also in the decision, the corporation decides to grant a Grade Two Prize for Technological Invention on each of two projects – the project of Cigarette Additives Capsules and Their Application in Cigarette Filter Tips and the project of Processing Technologies for Making Golden Cut Tobacco; and a Grade Three Prize for Technological Invention on each of two projects – the project of Application of Digital Image Technology in Tobacco Quality Inspection and the project of Research, Development and Application of Cut Tobacco Width Rapid Measuring Apparatus.
