Relief Support to Those Affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Republic of Philippines

Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) (TSE:2914) announced that for the purpose of rescuing those who have been affected by typhoon Haiyan and contributing to recovery, Japan Tobacco International, JT Group's international tobacco business, called upon all JTI employees worldwide for a monetary donation, which JTI guaranteed to match. In the Philippines, our local entity JTI Philippines has organised employees' volunteering activities for the affected areas as well as donating one million pesos to an Aid Organization and one million pesos worth of relief goods.

The JTI Foundation, an independent charitable organization registered under Swiss law and financially endowed by JT International SA, which specializes in providing aid to victims of disasters, is partnering with Habitat for Humanity International to support a recovery project for approx. CHF 199,000 (or USD 224,000). The Foundation will also continue to support two ongoing disaster preparedness programs in the Philippines, a family saving initiative for the poor, and a project to prevent post-disaster human trafficking.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to all those who have been affected by typhoon Haiyan in Philippines, and we hope that recovery will proceed quickly. Enditem
