TDR Cigarette Factory in Iran Starts Operating Source from: Dalje.com 09/10/2013 ![]() TDR, the Rovinj-based cigarette producer that is a part of the Adris tobacco and tourism group, on Monday inaugurated a EUR-30 million plant in the Iranian city of Sari in Mazandaran Province in the north of the country, Adris said in a statement. The Sari factory, built by TDR in cooperation with its Iranian partner Iranian Tobacco Company, can produce six billion cigarettes annually. TDR began cooperating with that leading Iranian tobacco firm in 2008, and since then the Croatian producer has been exporting its cigarettes on the Iran market on which 70 billion cigarettes are sold annually, according to the statement. TDR has transferred its know-how in the production and treatment of tobacco to the Sari plant and has also an opportunity "to be acquainted with the huge economic potentials and experience" of Iran. The plant was formally inaugurated by TDR Board chair Mato Zadro. As much as 60% of the TDR sale is abroad. This leading Croatian tobacco company exports to 15 markets, including Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Russian and some other countries.
