China: Shanghai Tobacco Group, Hauni Sign Deal on AF-KDF4 Filter Rod Maker

Shanghai Tobacco Group, under great support by China Tobacco International Co., Ltd., has recently signed an agreement with Hauni Maschinenbau AG of Germany on the import of a KDF4 grooved filter rod maker manufactured by Hauni, which will have been the first of its kind supplied by Hauni to a user in the world.

The agreement means the first commercial order received by Hauni for the supply of a KDF4 grooved filter rod maker since its invention.

The import of the  KDF4 grooved filter rod maker will be conducive to the drive of Shanghai Tobacco Group to further enhance its special filter rods manufacturing capacity, keep promoting its work of reducing the content of tar and other harmful substances in cigarette products, and lay a solid foundation for accelerating its research and development of low-tar and high-end new cigarette products.

The KDF4 grooved filter rod maker is a new-type cigarette rods making unit pertinently developed by Hauni closely in accordance with the demand of customers over recent years. The KDF4 grooved filter rod maker has a particularly designed base station module added to it, on the basis of the previous pattern of KDF4 filter rods making machine. Besides its capacity of producing generic filter rods, the KDF4 grooved filter rod maker is also capable of realizing high-speed production of grooved cigarette filter rods after the insertion of a grooved filter rods production module into the base station, which will contribute to effectively making the equipment more flexible and raising the efficiency of operation.
