<strong>China: Government Organ Addresses Letter of Thanks to HongyunHonghe</strong>

The Department of Finance of the Provincial Government of southwest China's Sichuan Province has recently addressed a letter of thanks to HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group to express appreciation to HongyunHonghe for its donation of 3 million yuan (483,500 U.S. dollars) to an earthquake-stricken region in Sichuan.

On April 20, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit a rural area of Sichuan, affecting several Ya'an counties, including Lushan County, the quake's epicenter. The earthquake affected 1.5 million people. The death toll was 196.

The letter of thanks addressed by the provincial Department of Finance said that the donation by HongyunHonghe is not only a powerful material support to the work of disaster relief in the wake of the quake, but is also, more significantly, a great spiritual encouragement. Therefore, the department has particularly addressed the letter to HongyunHonghe to express its heart-felt appreciation and pay its highest tributes for HongyunHonghe's generous aid to the people in the disaster area.
