<strong>China: STMA Chief, Provincial Governor Inspect Kunming Cigarette Factory</strong>

Director-General Ling Chengxing of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) and Governor Li Jiheng of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province inspected Kunming Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in Yunnan on May 28, visiting production facilities and giving instructions on future business development.

Top aides in the entourage of Ling and Li included STMA Deputy Director-General Yang Peisen and Deputy Governor Ding Shaoxiang of Yunnan Province.

Ling doubles as the secretary of the Communist Party group at the STMA while Li is also a deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Yunnan Provincial Committee.

During the inspection, Ling and Li and their entourage carefully checked the operation of production lines at Kunming Cigarette Factory, learned about the operation of processes of production of cut tobacco, cigarette making and physical distribution, projects of technological innovation and the current production efficiency. Besides, they also visited the cultural exhibition hall of Kunming Cigarette Factory.

Ling urged Kunming Cigarette Factory to focus on core technologies, and well study, well apply and well manage advanced production equipment at the cigarette factory, as advanced equipment proves to be a powerful guarantee for tobacco manufacturing enterprises to ensure high quality of their products and generate fine economic efficiency.

Meanwhile, Li urged the cigarette factory to vigorously launch technological innovation and technological transformation, and expressed the belief that HongyunHonghe will definitely be able to make greater contribution to the local economic development in Yunnan.

The entourage of Ling and Li also included STMA General Office Director Zhang Xiulian, STMA Economic Operation Department Director Wang Ping, China National Leaf Tobacco Corporation General Manager Zhao Zhenshan, Yunnan Provincial Government Secretary General Mao Wenguo and Deputy Secretary Generals Li Yifei and Li Shisong. Accompanying Ling and Li on the inspection were Director and General Manager Yu Yundong of Yunnan Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration; General Manager Zhu Shaoming, Board of Directors Chairman Liu Wandong, Communist Party Discipline Inspection group chief Li Xinjun and Deputy General Manager Li Tianfei of China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Co., Ltd.; leaders of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group including Yao Qingyan, Wu Yi, Xu Liwei, Bi Fenglin, He Guogang, Li Heng, Feng Bin, Wang Jiashou, Dai Wei, Tian Dongming and Huang Muzhong; and leaders of Kunming Cigarette Factory including Fan Xiao and Yang Xiaoping.
