<strong>China: HongyunHonghe Honors QC Groups for Achievements in Quality Improvement</strong>

HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province held a workshop at headquarters on April 23-25 to honor Quality Control (QC) groups for their achievements in product quality improvement, to further promote the launch of popular activities of innovative quality improvement, and to arouse the enthusiasm of the entire workforce to participate in the solution of hard technical problems and on-site management.

The workshop was attended by representatives of 25 QC groups from six production factories of HongyunHonghe.

The achievements made by the 25 QC groups that were unveiled at the workshop are all intended for the solution of problems urgently needed in practical production, and application of new methods for innovation. The scope of the achievements covers enhancement of the quality control capacity, promotion of management to higher levels, improvement of equipment performance, lowering of material consumption indexes, etc, with a relatively high content of technology. The making of the achievements has contributed to relatively well solving practical problem in production and operation. All the achievements are of relatively high value for generalization and practical application.

After intense contest for one and a half days after the workshop, six achievements including "Enhancement of the Supplementation Capacity of the Empty Room at the Eastern End of the Cut Tobacco Storage", "Reduction of Single-Case Consumption in the Production of Cartons on the FOCKE350S Line" and "Development of New Types of Feeding Nozzles" each won a Grade One Prize, and 19 achievements respectively won nine Grade Two Prizes and 10 Grade Three Prizes.

At the end of the workshop, a closing ceremony was held. Present at the closing ceremony were relevant leaders from the production and manufacturing center and the comprehensive office of the trade union of HongyunHonghe, and also relevant leaders from Kunming Cigarette Factory, Honghe Cigarette Factory and Huize Cigarette Factory of the tobacco group. The relevant leaders from the production and manufacturing center read out a list of the winners of the prizes, and the relevant leaders from the aforesaid factories awarded the prizes to representatives of the GC groups.
