<strong>China: HongyunHonghe Puts into Operation Africa Project</strong> Source from: HongyunHonghe Group 04/22/2013 ![]() HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – has recently put into operation its cigarette-processing project in Africa, which has been established by HongyunHonghe in cooperation with orient tobacco company in Namibia. The joint-venture bonded cigarette-processing project was established at Walvis Bay port in Namibia, with the brands, technology and equipment provided by HongyunHonghe. It produces flue-cured and blend-type cigarettes of such brands of HongyunHonghe as Yunyan (Soft Ruyi JY), Honghe (Hard A JY), Honghe (Red Win) and Honghe (Blue Win) for sales to markets in southern Africa and neighboring countries and regions. The construction of the joint-venture cigarette-processing project was started in November 2012. So far, it has been equipped with power, dust-removing and wind-powered cut tobacco supply systems, and boasts one soft-packaging cigarette-making unit and one hard-packaging cigarette-making unit. Each shift of operation can produce 2 million soft-packaging cigarettes (200 boxes) and 1 million hard-packaging cigarettes (100 boxes. The annual production capacity of the project can reach 1 billion cigarettes (100,000 boxes). Presently, the equipment at the joint-venture is in favorable operation, and the quality of cigarette products is up to the technological standards of HongyunHonghe. When its construction is completed, the project can serve as HongyunHonghe's cigarette-processing base in Africa, which will realize HongyunHonghe's local sales on markets in Africa, and which will contribute to further increasing the reputation of cigarette brands of HongyunHonghe at the marketplace in Africa.
