China: HongyunHonghe Holds Meeting to Appraise Projects of Scientific-technological Research Source from: HongyunHonghe Group 01/28/2013 ![]() HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – held on January 14-16 a meeting to conduct final expert appraisal of a total of 13 projects of scientific-technological research independently opened by the tobacco group, including the project of "Serial Individualized Cigarette Materials Development and Application Research". At the three-day meeting, all the 13 projects wrapped up in 2012 upon application by the relevant research taskforces passed the expert appraisal. Both the general quality of execution and the technical level of the projects were significantly higher than those of 2011. Therefore, the projects all won affirmation and commendation by the experts attending the meeting. The panel of experts appraising the projects selected 10 out of the 13 projects for prizes for scientific-technological progress of HongyunHonghe for the year 2012. Speaking at the meeting, HongyunHonghe Deputy CEO Feng Bin summed up the work of execution of projects of scientific-technological research by HongyunHonghe in 2012, and raised new requirements for the work of scientific-technological research and development in 2013. He expressed the hope that in 2013, the execution of projects of scientific-technological research by HongyunHonghe will be promoted to a higher level, in order to promote the technological level of HongyunHonghe to a new high, raise the economic efficiency of HongyunHonghe, and further enhance the scientific-technological research and development capacity and innovation capacity of HongyunHonghe.
