China: Kunming Cigarette Factory Rated as Grade-One Enterprise in Production Safety Standardization

Kunming Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province has recently been rated as a national-level Grade-One enterprise in standardization for production safety, as a result of its efforts to strengthen the management of production safety for years.

On January 5-6, the a six-member panel of inspectors grouping relevant experts with China Academy of Safety Science and Technology under the State Administration of Work Safety conducted an assessment of production safety control at Kunming Cigarette Factory for rating of standardization for production safety. As a result, Kunming Cigarette Factory smoothly passed the assessment and has emerged as the first manufacturing enterprise of HongyunHonghe earning the title as a national-level Grade-One enterprise in standardization for production safety.

On the morning of January 5, the first meeting on assessment of production safety control at Kunming Cigarette Factory for rating of standardization for production safety was held. In accordance with the relevant rules, five experts of the panel of inspectors separately formed groups to conduct examination of production, living and support facilities in Kunming Cigarette Factory in entirety through on-site observation, sample taking of data, interview and exchange of opinions.

On the morning of January 6, the final meeting on assessment of production safety control at Kunming Cigarette Factory for rating of standardization for production safety was held. At this meeting, the panel of inspectors reported the data of assessment to Kunming Cigarette Factory, and announced the results of the assessment. Consequently, Kunming Cigarette Factory smoothly passed the assessment.

Director Fan Xiao of Kunming Cigarette Factory said: “The rating as a national-level Grade-One enterprise in standardization for production safety is only a new start point rather than a terminal stop. Kunming Cigarette Factory will take the rating as an opportunity and will seriously value and attach greater importance to the opinions and suggestions raised by all the experts. Efforts will be made to improve the work of production safety control and promote the creation of first-rate successes in production safety management at Kunming Cigarette Factory.” Enditem
