China: Tripartite Agreement on Building Agricultural High-tech Demonstration Park Signed

Shanghai Tobacco Group, South Anhui Leaf Tobacco Co., Ltd. in east China's Anhui Province and the Tobacco Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences signed in Xuancheng City of Anhui on November 30 a package of agreements on joint establishment of the Shanghai-Anhui Tobacco Agriculture High-Technology Demonstration Park by and between the three parties.

The ceremony to sign the agreement was also named a symposium on the establishment of the Shanghai-Anhui Tobacco Agriculture High-Technology Demonstration Park.

The signing of the agreement was in implementation of the working requirement of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration for "promoting the guarantee of raw materials supply to higher levels", and was intended to innovate models of cooperation between the manufacturing sector, the commercial sector and research circles.

At the ceremony, the three parties signed framework agreements on tripartite strategic cooperation in building the demonstration park. The technology center of Shanghai Tobacco Group and South Anhui Leaf Tobacco Co., Ltd. signed framework agreements on cooperation in the establishment of joint research bodies.

Under the agreements, the three parties will integrate their technology and human resources for the establishment of the Shanghai-Anhui Tobacco Agriculture High-Technology Demonstration Park. With the establishment of a regional center for the research and development of highly aromatic leaf tobacco raw materials produced in south Anhui for key cigarette brands, the establishment of a modern tobacco agriculture science and technology innovation model zone and the establishment of a manufacturing-commercial cooperation models innovation guidance zone as strategic targets, the three parties will organize the launch of cooperative research in the fields of raw materials supply guarantee, development of a modern tobacco agriculture, ways of production organization, management service models, comprehensive utilization of facilities, etc at the Shanghai-Anhui Tobacco Agriculture High-Technology Demonstration Park; and will strive to build the park into a modern tobacco agriculture science and technology demonstration park integrating the functions of scientific-technological innovation, technological service, management innovation, production demonstration, human resources development, etc. Enditem
