Shanghai Tobacco Import-Export Co. Establishes Mechanism for Assessing Overseas Dealers

Shanghai Tobacco Import-Export Co., Ltd. – the foreign trade arm of Shanghai Tobacco Group – has established a mechanism for accessing the performance of overseas dealers of tobacco products in association with it, in efforts to promote its management of cigarette sales at international markets.

 

In deepening in a sustainable way the overseas dealership cooperation ideas of "active participation, joint operation, long-term cooperation and sharing development", and in promoting on a full scale the "going global" business development strategy of Shanghai Tobacco Group, Shanghai Tobacco Import-Export Co., Ltd. has since the beginning of 2012 earnestly reviewed the status quo of development of overseas markets; comparatively analyzed the situation of operation of overseas dealers; and formulated a set of general guidelines for assessing the performance of overseas dealers with "regularization" as the basis, "cooperation" as the link and "development" as the target, in light of the reality that the types of markets vary from one another, that the brands in trade vary from one another, and the ways of operation also vary from one another.

On the basis of revision of the previous Standards and Schemes for Assessing and Encouraging Overseas Dealers, the company has managed to form the current Measures for Assessing Overseas Dealers (For Trial Implementation), breaking the limitation of old assessment standards that only took the brands in trade and market sales as the main criteria, and establishing a new mechanism for assessing the performance of overseas dealers with regularization of operation, with tightness of cooperation and with the market expansion capability, to more comprehensively and truthfully reflect the comprehensive capacity of overseas dealers, which has contributed to making new progress in the innovation of systems and mechanisms, and providing important reference bases for further tapping the marketing potential of overseas dealers and exploring and applying new models of differentiated marketing cooperation.

So far, Shanghai Tobacco Import-Export Co., Ltd. has, in comparison with the Measures for Assessing Overseas Dealers (For Trial Implementation), respectively made assessment testing and analysis of the performance of all overseas dealers on the basis of the results of their actual operation from the fourth quarter of 2011 to the third quarter of 2012. Presently, the company is taking steps to further improve the Measures for Assessing Overseas Dealers (For Trial Implementation), in striving to make it scientific and impartial, and in practically providing mechanism guarantee for establishing relations of strategic cooperation with clients and promoting international marketing to higher levels.
