China: HongyunHonghe Holds Meeting on Substantial Operation of Logistics Center

HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province-the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - held a meeting on September 28 on the start of substantial operation of its newly established logistics center, putting forward requirements for specific aspects of substantial operation of the logistics center and key targets of its work in future.

The dignitaries attending the meeting included HongyunHonghe leaders such as Yao Qingyan, Wu Yi, Xu Liwei and Feng Bin, Secretary Li Haikun of the Logistics Department of China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Co., Ltd., and relevant leaders of the relevant departments of HongyunHonghe and producers subsidiary to HongyunHonghe based in Yunnan Province. Speaking at the meeting, Chief Inspector Ming Wenhu of the Logistics Center said that the scheme for substantial operation of the logistics center won powerful cooperation and support from the relevant departments and producers in the early stage of investigation and research. Ming expressed the hope that in future work, all departments will continue to extend assistance, to ensure smooth progression of substantial operation of the logistics center. Speaking on the same occasion, Li Haikun expressed the hope that under cooperation by the leadership and all relevant departments of HongyunHonghe, the logistics center of HongyunHonghe will be turned into a model logistics center for the whole tobacco industry of China, and that it will be able to provide better service for the development of HongyunHonghe. Also speaking at the meeting, Wu Yi highly commented on the scheme for substantial operation of the logistics center, and put forward a package of requirements for promoting the work of substantial operation of the logistics center: Firstly, it is essential to fully understand the great significance of substantial operation of the logistics center, and to turn the logistics center into a major means for promoting the management of HongyunHonghe to higher levels. Secondly, concerted efforts shall be made to ensure a smooth transition of business, and to realize reconstruction of the business process. And thirdly, there shall be overall planning and systematic implementation, to practically promote logistics management to higher levels, and unremitting efforts shall be made to enable HongyunHonghe to establish a logistics system that will be advanced for the tobacco industry of China.
