China: Shanghai Tobacco Group in Substantial Promotion of Building Model Park

Shanghai Tobacco Group has taken steps to substantially promote the work of building a scientific-technological model park for growing high-quality leaf tobacco for producing cigarettes of its well-known competitive Chunghwa brand family in the southern part of Anhui Province in east China. Recently, the procurement center of Shanghai Tobacco Group organized a group of relevant experts to hold a meeting on coordination of progress in the construction of the model park in Xuancheng City of Anhui Province, in efforts to further accelerate the construction of the model park, make the planning for the construction of the model park more forward looking, optimize the workflow and specify the division of work. So far, Shanghai Tobacco Group has completed the taking of 187 samples of soil and eight samples of soil profiles from the park and has completed the work of contour line measurement of 500 mu (33.3 hectares) of farmland in the park. The work of testing and improving the relevant data is expected to be completed by the end of October. In a next stage, the construction of the park will be focused on the treatment of land in the core part of the park, planning for its functional areas, the construction of two workshops, etc. Enditem
