China: Hongta Holds Meeting on Quality Appraisal of Cigarettes Made in North China Joint Ventures

Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – a leading Chinese tobacco manufacturer – held the 2012 meeting on appraisal of the quality of cigarettes of Hongta's brand produced in joint-venture operations between Hongta Group and other enterprises in north China in partnership with it, with the participation of leaders and experts from all the parties concerned.

Organized by the Production and Manufacturing Center of Hongta Group and hosted by Chuxiong Cigarette Factory of Hongta Group, the meeting was held at Chuxiong Cigarette Factory, and was attended by more than 40 leaders and experts from China Tobacco Hebei Industrial Co., Ltd., China Tobacco Henan Industrial Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Cigarette Factory, Luoyang Cigarette Factory, Zhengzhou Cigarette Factory, Zhangjiakou Cigarette Factory, and Chuxiong Cigarette Factory. The meeting was intended to further promote smooth operation of joint-venture cigarette production, establish platforms for bilateral communication and exchange in joint-venture cigarette production, and ensure stability of the quality and consistency of styles of cigarettes produced in joint-venture operations.

At a welcome ceremony prior to the meeting, Chuxiong Cigarette Factory Deputy Director Peng Liming delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the factory. At the meeting, Peng introduced history of development, technological transformation projects construction and new factory production of Chuxiong Cigarette Factory. Other leaders also introduced cooperation situation in each factories. Then, all the participants conducted sensory taste on produces made by joint-ventures, and gave their feedback. At the end of meeting, Vice Manager of Manufacturing Department and Director of Technology Center of Hongta Group, conducted the products quality and thanked supports from joint-ventures and factories. After the meeting, participants visited processes of raw materials purchasing, leaf tobacco selecting and cigarette manufacturing, etc., and learned about information of raw material purchasing, production manufacturing, processing and technology innovation.
