China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Co. sends team to inspect raw materials supply

China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Co., Ltd. in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province sent on August 15 a team of experts and officials, led by Raw Materials Department Director Ma Jianxiong, to inspect the work of guaranteeing the supply of raw materials of leaf tobacco during the current harvest season, shortly before the start of the annual trading of leaf tobacco between the commercial and manufacturing sectors of the tobacco industry.

Ma Jianxiong led the team firstly to a new tobacco variety experiment base in Luhe Township of Chuxiong Ctiy, carefully examining the field growth of the new tobacco varieties there and also flue-cured samples of the new varieties. While expressing satisfaction over experiments in the growing of the new varieties and the flue-cured samples, Ma Jianxiong required the relevant departments to further strengthen the work of management of the experimental plots during the period of leaf tobacco harvest and curing, etc. Afterwards, Ma Jianxiong and his team went to Shaqiao Township in Nanhua County to check the growing of the K326 tobacco variety in large contiguous plots and the purchase of leaf tobacco from sporadic plots. Ma Jianxiong expressed the hope that the commercial and manufacturing sectors of the tobacco industry will, with execution of scientific-technological research projects as an opportunity, further strengthen bilateral cooperation, manage to raise the usability of leaf tobacco and realize a win-win situation. Meanwhile, Ma Jianxiong required Chuxiong Cigarette Factory to closely cooperate with tobacco companies at all levels, and strengthen coordination with them, in order that the government, tobacco companies, the cigarette factory and local tobacco growers will all feel satisfied, and in order to ensure smooth fulfillment of the work assignments in leaf tobacco trading between the commercial and manufacturing sectors of the tobacco industry. So far, the tobacco crops in all fields at tobacco production bases in Chuxiong City have all entered the period of harvest and curing, and all leaf tobacco purchase stations have begun the purchase of lower tobacco leaves.
