China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corp. Applied for 145 Patents in 1HY

China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corp. in central China’s Hubei Province, which doubles as Hubei Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration, made great achievements in scientific-technological innovation in the first half year 2012, in efforts to promote its cigarette production and marketing in a higher level in accordance with the requirement of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration. Until now, China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corp. has applied for 1157 patents, and it was granted 711 patents, and 60% of which was applied in its products. So far, China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corp. has cooperated with more than 40 universities and institutions on technologies, and made efforts to build Chinese-style cigarette. Now, it has the capability to produce 1mg low-tar cigarettes. In recent years, sales volume of Huanghelou and Hongjinlong brands increased rapidly. Until the end of July 2012, export volume reached to 2.2 billion cigarettes. During Jan. to July, China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corp. generated 23 billion yuan on taxes and profits, increased by 5.62 billion yuan, and expected to reach 40 billion yuan for the full year, increase by 10 billion yuan.
