Imperial Hamburg Employees Swap Jobs for a Day

Employees from Imperial Tobacco's offices in Hamburg took part in the company's first ever community support volunteering day in Germany. About 100 Reemtsma employees swapped their day job to work on one of five local Help Day projects, including supporting elderly and disabled people, working in an urban garden scheme, helping at an animal shelter and contributing to a wildlife conservation scheme (pictured).

Those taking part included Rainer Eberlein, director operations, Sabine Sch?fer, director product science and OHS&E, Frank Meier, group risk and security manager, and Sebastian Blohm, corporate affairs manager. "This was the first time that we've done something like this and I think everyone involved thought it was a huge success," said Blohm. "It was a great way for our people from across various functions to work together with others and give something back to our local communities." Enditem
