Imperial Celebrates Plant Expansion in NZ Source from: Aug 6, 2012 08/07/2012 ![]() Imperial Tobacco New Zealand today celebrated the expansion of its production facility in Petone, a suburb of the city of Lower Hutt, according to a Scoop story relayed by the TMA.
The official opening of the expanded facility was attended by Lower Hutt's mayor, Ray Wallace, and Imperial's factory manager, Mike McInnarney.
McInnarney said the inauguration capped an 18-month, NZ$45 million upgrade at the Petone site, which will now export more than three billion cigarettes and about 700 tonnes of roll-your-own tobacco annually to Australia.
Imperial Tobacco New Zealand upgraded the Petone plant after winning a global tender to supply the Australian market, McInnarney said. Enditem
