France: Tobacconists Given Insights into Manufacturing

Imperial Tobacco's cigarette factory in Nantes recently played host to the board of directors of the French tobacconists' association. Board members were invited to the site by the Imperial’s general manager, France, Martin Carroll, and factory manager, Sebastian Depierre. For many it was their first opportunity to visit a cigarette factory. After meeting with national sales manager, Olivier Chambe, and area directors, Bruno Drouet and Guillaume Lardonnère, the board members were given a tour of the factory by production manager, Bertrand Gautier. Almost 300 French tobacconists are due to tour the factory between now and September. "We were very proud to invite members of the association to gain a better knowledge of our production methods," said Depierre. "Continuous improvement can only be enhanced by exchanges between suppliers and distributors such as this." Enditem
