Netherlands: And the Most Profitable Space Award Goes to Tobacco

For the third year in a row, Imperial Tobacco has won recognition for its approach to tobacco category management in food stores across the Netherlands. The Captain of Category award from a Dutch trade magazine was based on feedback from 750 leading retailers. Imperial was praised for its constructive approach as the leading supplier of tobacco-related products in the market. "We're very happy with this prize especially as we scored high on supporting the retailers, for example during the implementation of low ignition propensity cigarettes," said Ruud van den Eertwegh, trade marketing manager, Netherlands. Meanwhile, national account manager, Ron van den Heuvel, made the point that the most profitable space in supermarkets was the tobacco category.
