China: STMA Delegation Inspected Hongta Group

A delegation from the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) – the regulator of China’s tobacco industry – arrived in Hongta Group in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on July 25 to inspect and guide continued efforts to control the production of cigarettes with skyrocketing prices and overpackaging of cigarettes in accordance with Official Document No. 171 [2012] of the National Tobacco Control Office.

At a meeting held during the inspection, the STMA delegation specified the contents, procedures and methods of the inspection, and emphasized the importance of the work of inspection this time.
Hongta Group Deputy CEO Xia Kaiyuan expressed welcome to the STMA delegation on behalf of the leadership and entire workforce of Hongta, and expressed the hope that the STMA delegation including experts will point out problems they discover in the inspection and will put forward valuable opinions on improvement.
At the meeting, Hongta Group CEO Assistant Guo Yong reported to the STMA delegation continued efforts adopted by Hongta Group to implement Official Document No. 171 [2012] of the National Tobacco Control Office and to control the production of cigarettes with skyrocketing prices and overpackaging of cigarettes, and also reported the working guidelines and planning of Hongta Group over a next period of time.
The STMA delegation also visited the equipment and technology department, the marketing center and the materials supply procurement center of Hongta Group to conduct on-site inspection, pointing out existing problems there, and putting forward opinions on improvement. Enditem
