Altadis Celebrates 375th Anniversary

The management of Altadis met with King Juan Carlos of Spain to mark the 375th anniversary of the Spanish business, now owned by Imperial Tobacco. The event was attended by Dominic Brisby, general manager Iberia, Titus Wouda Kuipers, regional director Western Europe, and the Altadis management team. During the meeting, the king was presented with a scale model of a cigarette-making machine that was used many years ago. The king was told that whereas this type of machine produced 60 cigarettes a minute, modern machines used at Altadis’ Logro?o factory, could make 16,000 a minute. "We were very grateful to be given this audience with his majesty to commemorate the long and distinguished heritage of our business in Spain," said Brisby. Enditem
