China: HongyunHonghe Rated as Most Competitive Brand of China’s Tobacco Industry

HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China’s tobacco-producing Yunnan Province – the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer – has recently been rated as the most competitive brand of China’s tobacco industry for the year 2012 at the 8th China Enterprise Competitiveness Annual Meeting jointly sponsored by the Economy magazine, China Trade News newspaper, China Cooperation Times newspaper, China Industrial Economy Investigation and Research Center, China Economy Innovation-Development League and other institutions. Since the launch of the annual event in 2003, seven China Enterprise Competitiveness Annual Meetings had been held, besides the 2012 meeting held in Beijing recently. The year 2011 was the first year of the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015) for HongyunHonghe. In the year, HongyunHonghe produced and sold nearly 250 billion cigarettes (5 million cases) and generated over 50 billion yuan (over 8 billion U.S. dollars) in taxes and profits, well accomplishing the annual business development targets. China Enterprise Competitiveness Annual Meeting is a large-scale public interest survey activity under the theme of "brands in news and personalities in news". Enditem
