Another E-cigarette Patent Application Source from: Tobacco Reporter 07/10/2012 ![]() Vapor Corp, a leading US-based electronic cigarette company, said last week that it had filed a non-provisional patent for a redesigned electronic cigarette with hermetically sealed components, according to a press note issued through PRNewswire.
The application, filed on June 18, was based on Vapor's provisional patent application filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office on June 16.
Vapor said this latest filing was the third patent application by Vapor in the past 12 months relating to its efforts to redesign the electronic cigarette and enhance the customer product experience.
The latest patent application is said to reconfigure the order of the functional components of an electronic cigarette and to make other technological enhancements.
"Electronic cigarette technology continues to advance and we believe that there is still room for considerable advancement,” said CEO Kevin Frija.
"We, at Vapor, have undertaken to redesign the electronic cigarette and this latest patent is a continuation of that commitment."
With this filing, Vapor's pending patents include the linear induction electronic cigarette that uses kinetic energy for power to eliminate the need for conventional charging; the Soft Padded Electronic Cigarette Cartridge that provides electronic cigarette customers with a soft tip filter with the same tactile feel as that of a traditional cigarette filter; and the reconfigured electronic cigarette with hermetically sealed components. Vapor said that while it believed that the US Patent and Trademark Office would award it a patent for its redesigned electronic cigarette, there was no assurance in this regard. Enditem
