Reynolds American Outlines Personnel Changes

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Reynolds American Inc. outlined several personnel moves Friday in the wake of EO Susan Ivey's previously-disclosed plans to retire from the nation's second-largest tobacco company in February. Ivey, who is also president, has already been replaced as chairman effective Nov. 1 by Thomas Wajnert. In the October announcement of her retirement plans, the company said Daniel Delen, would succeed her as president and CEO effective March 1. Delen is currently chairman, president and CEO of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. On Friday, the company behind the Camel, Pall Mall and Winston brands said Andrew D. Gilchrist, 38, has been named president and chief commercial officer of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., effective Jan. 1, 2011. He is currently executive vice president and chief information officer of RAI Services Co., a unit of Reynolds American. He also serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. Reynolds American Services provides services to Reynolds American and its operating companies via service agreements. Randall M. Spach, 51, was named president of American Snuff Co., from his current position as vice president of operations at the unit, effective Jan. 1. He takes the title from Bryan K. Stockdale, 52, currently president and CEO of American Snuff, who plans to retire on March 31. Thomas R. Adams, 60, currently executive vice president and chief financial officer of Reynolds American and Reynolds American Services, will also take the roll of chief information officer, effective Jan. 1. Additionally, Reynolds American Services law department is reorganizing and as part of the reorganization E. Julia Lambeth, 59, executive vice president and general counsel of Reynolds American, is leaving at the end of the year. Martin L. Holton III, 53, will replace her. He is currently senior vice president and deputy general counsel of Reynolds American Services and senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. Mark A. Peters, 45, will be promoted to senior vice president of decision support for Reynolds American Services. He is currently vice president of finance for RAI Services. Separately, Reynolds American said Friday that John Daly, 54, chief operating officer of British American Tobacco PLC, has been elected to its board as of Dec. 1 to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Nicandro Durante.
