Xuzhou Cigarette Factory Kicks Off Project of Relocation, Technological Transformation

Xuzhou Cigarette Factory of Jiangsu Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation in east China's Jiangsu Province held a grand ceremony on March 25 to kick off its project of relocation to a new site and technological transformation in the 2011-2015 five-year period, which will lead to the installation a new Suyan brand cigarette production line. The project of relocation and technological transformation of Xuzhou Cigarette Factory is a priority project of technological transformation approved by the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) in the 2011-2015 five-year period. The execution of the project is not only a strategic approach adopted by the tobacco industry of Jiangsu to sharpen the competitive edge of its cigarette brands and promote its cigarette production to a higher level, but is also an effective means for Xuzhou Cigarette Factory to enhance its independent innovation capacity, enhance its processing and manufacturing capacity and build itself into an outstanding cigarette making enterprise. The project covers a total area of 1,080 mu (72 hectares). The first phase of execution of the project will see construction to the tune of 246,500 square meters, including the construction of a series of new production facilities, including a joint production workshop building, a power center, a production management center, a logistic service building, a finished products alcoholization depot, a raw materials turnover depot, a tobacco sheets turnover depot, a sugar spices preparation workshop and other support facilities; procurement and installation of a new 6,000kg/h leaf cutting line and a new 2,000kg/h stem cutting line; relocation of a 4,800kg/h HXD leaf cutting line and a 1,050kg/h ESS stem cutting line; and the construction of a new 570kg/h CO2 cut tobacco expansion line.
