Provincial Administration, University Cooperate in Establishing Innovation Base

Hubei Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration and Central China Agricultural University - both based in central China's Hubei Province - have jointly launched a project of cooperation in establishing a post-doctoral innovation practice base in the Qingjiangyuan Modern Tobacco Agriculture Science and Technology Park in Enshi Prefecture of Hubei Province. Recently, a ceremony was held to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the post-doctoral innovation practice base, with the presence of leaders from Hubei Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration, which doubles as Hubei Provincial Tobacco Corporation. It was announced at the ceremony that over recent years, Enshi Prefecture, in the capacity of the largest tobacco-growing area in Hubei Province, has conducted development of a modern tobacco agriculture in an in-depth way. Over the past four years since its establishment, the Qingjiangyuan Modern Tobacco Agriculture Science and Technology Park has emerged as a comprehensive platform and base integrating scientific-technological research and development, education and training, and development of a modern tobacco agriculture, and has played an important demonstrative and leading role in scientific-technological support for developing "Qingjiangyuan" high-quality leaf tobacco brands with unique local characteristics and also for the development of a modern tobacco agriculture in Hubei Province. It was emphasized at the ceremony that establishment of the post-doctoral innovation practice base will contribute to creating favorable conditions for in-depth cooperation between the tobacco industry and Central China Agricultural University, and promoting incubation of scientific-technological achievements and human resources development. It will also contribute to greatly promoting the scientific-technological research capacity and technological guidance capacity of the tobacco industry of Hubei Province to higher levels, and keeping promoting the scientific-technological research capacity and comprehensive capacity of the Qingjiangyuan Modern Tobacco Agriculture Science and Technology Park to higher levels.
