Imperial Strengthens Position in Georgia

The Imperial Tobacco group said yesterday that it had strengthened its presence in the Caucasus with the opening of its first representative office in Georgia. The opening ceremony in the capital Tbilisi was attended by local dignitaries and business partners. Imperial said it had an 8.4 per cent share of the Georgia market and was currently growing its position with its key strategic cigarette brands, Davidoff and Gauloises Blondes, and with Gitanes and the regional brand, Brilliant. "The new office will enable us to strengthen our merchandising and trade marketing capabilities as well as support new and existing brands in the market," said market manager, Nick Garsevanishvili. "We have a competitive advantage over our rivals in Georgia thanks to our strong portfolio of brands and we are determined to continue to build on this." Enditem
