Bulgartabac Looking to Grow Volume in Taiwan

Bulgartabac is to double its exports to Taiwan by 2013, according to a Novinite story quoting a company announcement. Bulgartabac, which last year was bought from the Bulgarian state by the Russian bank VTB for €100.1 million, exported 500 million cigarettes to Taiwan in 2011. But it plans to boost its exports to Taiwan to 750 million this year and to one billion by 2013. Bulgartabac said also that it was in the process of creating new brands for the Taiwanese market in order to meet 'the tastes and requirements of the consumers from the region'. The company said it had a market share in Taiwan of a little over two per cent, and that it exported also to Japan and Hong Kong brands including EVA Slims, MM, and Tresor. Enditem
