Yunnan Tobacco Industry Holds Vocational Skills Competition, Leaf Tobacco Grading Skills Contest

The tobacco industry of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province held its 9th vocational skills competition and 3rd leaf tobacco grading skills contest in Zhengzhou City of north central China's Henan Province in mid-March, in efforts to honor and encourage outstanding performance in vocational skills and leaf tobacco grading skills on the part of workers with the provincial tobacco industry.

On March 14, a opening ceremony was held in Zhengzhou City to kick off the competition and the contest. Present at the ceremony were Deputy Director Lian Fei of the appraisal center of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA), Vice-President Li Guangcai of the Further Education College for Workers and Staff Members of China National Tobacco Corporation, Deputy General Manager Li Tianfei of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, and Trade Union Chairman Cao Hang and other relevant leaders of Hongta Group.
In an address delivered at the ceremony, Li Guangcai extended warm congratulation to the competition and the contest, and said that leaf tobacco grading human resources are an important part of the human resources of the tobacco industry. As a leading tobacco manufacturing enterprise, Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation attaches great importance to the development of human resources for leaf tobacco grading, and has fostered one group of leaf tobacco grading master hands after another, and making positive contribution to the drive of promoting cigarette production to a higher level in China, according to Li Guangcai.
Speaking on the same occasion, Li Tianfei expressed gratitude to the appraisal center of the STMA, the Further Education College for Workers and Staff Members of China National Tobacco Corporation and other institutions for their great support to the competition and the contest, and said that the sustained and steady development of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation over recent years has come as a result of steady progress in promoting human resources development, control of quality of leaf tobacco at all grades, establishment of leaf tobacco bases units, etc.
"We, on the one hand, need to exert great efforts to promote the ongoing construction of the leaf tobacco manor, to lay a sold foundation for the development of competitive cigarette brands. On the other hand, we need to foster a team of highly qualified professional leaf tobacco grading human resources, in order to provide guarantee of human resources for promoting the leaf tobacco quality control work of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation to a higher level," said Li Tianfei.
Participating in the competition and the contest were quality control supervisors and instructors, experts and referees from 13 provincial-level tobacco monopoly administrations and provincial-level China tobacco industry corporations from Hunan, Guangdong, Shandong and other provincial Chinese regions, as well as 60 competitors from Hongta Group and HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group.
Also present at the opening ceremony were relevant leaders, workers and staff members from the human resources department, the appraisal station, etc of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation. Enditem
