China: Cigarette Factories of HongyunHonghe Qualified as Cleaner Producers

Qujing and Huize Cigarette Factories - both subsidiaries of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - have recently been rated as qualified cleaner manufacturing enterprises by a panel of relevant leaders with Yunnan Provincial Industry and Information Technology Commission and experts. On February 21-22, the panel went to Qujing and Huize Cigarette Factories to conduct inspection and on-site verification of the work of cleaner production there. Following the inspection and on-site verification, the panel drew a conclusion that both Qujing and Huize Cigarette Factories had well implemented the policies on cleaner production, with the various indexes at relatively favorable levels, and had met the standards for rating as qualified cleaner manufacturing enterprises of Yunnan Province. In December 2011, Honghe Cigarette Factory - another subsidiary of HongyunHonghe - was rated as a cleaner manufacturing enterprise of Yunnan Province following inspection and on-site verification.
