Good Year for Belarus Factory

Neman Tobacco Factory in Grodno, Belarus, exported 252 million cigarettes worth $2.4 million last year, up 243 per cent in respect of volume and 227 per cent in respect of value on its exports of 2010, according to a BELTA - Digest story relayed by the TMA and quoting assistant director general, Dmitry Chugai. The state-run factory's production last year, at 23.4 billion, was increased by 133.7 per cent on that of 2010. Total production last year included 5.4 billion cigarettes manufactured for international tobacco companies, a 7.8 per cent increase over its contract manufacture during 2010. The production of Neman's own cigarette brands increased by 37.8 per cent to 17.9 billion units between 2010 and 2011. Enditem
