China: Provincial Corporation Inaugurates Reconstituted Tobacco Laboratory Source from: TobaccoChina Online 12/19/2011 Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation - the operator of the tobacco industry in central China's Henan Province - held a ceremony on December 8 to unveil the nameplate of its key reconstituted tobacco laboratory, in efforts to upgrade its paper-process reconstituted tobacco production technology.
The dignitaries attending the ceremony included Zhao Hongshun, deputy director of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, Zheng Jianmin, director of Henan Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration, Yang Ziye, general manager of Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, Wang Senting, a mayor-level local government official, and Zheng Chuande, deputy mayor of the home city of Xuchang.
It was reported that Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation is one of the first Chinese enterprises that apply the technology of paper-process reconstitution tobacco production. From feasibility study at first, initial application in practice, installation of a production line to independent research and development, the corporation has had relatively in-depth understanding of the technology of paper-process reconstituted tobacco production.
In efforts to upgrade its original capability of research and development, and strengthen the research, development and application of reconstituted tobacco, Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation has established the key reconstituted tobacco laboratory.
By the end of 2011, researchers with the laboratory had been granted 21 patents for utility models, and had applied for six patents for invention, with one of the research achievements passing appraisal by Henan Provincial Administration of Science and Technology and winning a Grade One prize of Xuchang City for scientific-technological progress.
