JT Completes $450 Million Haggar Acquisition

The JT Group has completed the acquisition of Haggar Cigarette & Tobacco Factory (HCTF) whose business spans the republics of Sudan and South Sudan.

The acquisition of HCTF, which sold more than 4.5 billion cigarettes last year, was first announced in July. HCTF has been acquired for about $450 million, about 9.9 times the company's 2010 underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization. In announcing the completion of the deal, Japan Tobacco Inc. said the acquisition was expected to have little impact on the group's consolidated account for the fiscal year ending March 2012. Enditem
