Hongta Group Marks Historic Moment in Corporate Development

Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - a leading Chinese tobacco manufacturer - held a high-profile ceremony on November 22 to mark the moment of turning out the 3 millionth case of Mount Hongtashan brand cigarettes and also the 1 millionth case of Yuxi brand cigarettes for 2011, under the witness of senior government and corporate leaders.

Witnessing this great historic moment as a milestone in the corporate development of Hongta Group jointly with representatives of outstanding workers, staff members and technicians of Hongta Group were more than 350 dignitaries including Deputy Director-General Li Keming of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA), Deputy Governor Cao Jianfang of Yunnan Province, leaders of the relevant departments of the STMA, General Manager Zhu Shaoming, Board of Directors Chairman Liu Wandong and other leaders of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation, Communist Party and government leaders of Yuxi City, leaders of all provincial-level tobacco companies, leaders of the tobacco companies in the 36 key Chinese cities, leaders of some regional China Tobacco Industry corporations, leaders of Hongta Group and leaders of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group. In an enthusiastic address delivered at the ceremony, Li Keming said: "The successful turnout of the 3 millionth case of Mount Hongtashan brand cigarettes and the 1 millionth case of Yuxi brand cigarettes is of positive leading role to the development of Chinese-style cigarette products, which embodies the powerful vigor and vitality of Chinese-style cigarette products." Speaking on the same occasion, Cao Jianfang pointed out that after a period of two years, he was glad to see that both Mount Hongtashan and Yuxi have realized leap-forward development, with Mount Hongtashan growing by 50 percent, and with Yuxi rising by 100 percent. Such a growth rate was actually the highest for the tobacco industry of Yunnan, and Mount Hongtashan has actually emerged as the No. 1 cigarette brand in China, according to the deputy provincial governor. Also speaking at the ceremony, Hongta Group CEO Li Suiming said that: "Today, Hongta Group's successes are inspiring. In future, we will manage to seize the fine opportunity of great reform and great development of China's tobacco industry, in striving to reach the long-term goal of developing big competitive cigarettes that will take a lead in the whole world."
