Hongta Group Meets on Energy Conservation, Emission Reduction

Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - a leading Chinese tobacco manufacturer - held an annual meeting on October 25-26 on the work of energy conservation and emission reduction for the year 2011, in accordance with the relevant policy requirements and targets of the State. The meeting reviewed the work of energy conservation and emission reduction by Hongta Group in the 2006-2010 five-year period, and believed that Hongta Group has kept increasing the efficiency of utilization of energy, and has made relatively great progress in meeting the various required targets set by the government. Besides, Hongta Group always meets the requirement of the local government for the total quantity of emission, and has relatively better met the targets for energy conservation and emission reduction set by both the State and the tobacco industry, according to the meeting. On the work of energy conservation and emission reduction in the 2011-2015 five-year period and also in the next year, the meeting proposed that steps be taken to establish a system of control over energy consumption, establish a permanent mechanism for energy conservation, define the responsibility of all the parties concerned for energy conservation in line with the relevant standards set by the system of control over energy consumption, strengthen management over energy conservation at all levels, and establish complete monitoring and inspection systems, in order that the work of energy conservation and emission reduction will be carried out in a visible, tangible and controllable way, and that energy consumption by Hongta Group can be effectively lowered. Meanwhile, through analysis and study of the system of review and utilization of energy, the meeting summarized a package of technologies and measures for energy conservation that prove to be effective in application by the tobacco industry and Hongta Group, and urged efforts to fully tap potential of the work of energy conservation and emission reduction, and create new ways of energy conservation and emission reduction. The meeting called on all subsidiaries and all departments of Hongta Group to practically well accomplish the work of energy conservation and emission reduction, and strive to realize the target of Hongta Group to build itself into a "green enterprise group".
