Qujing City Tobacco Company Meets on Leaf Tobacco Supply in 2011

Qujing City Tobacco Company in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province held on October 11 a symposium on leaf tobacco supply from the commercial sector to the manufacturing sector of the local tobacco industry in the current year, with the participation of representatives from 20 cigarette making enterprises covered by the system of leaf tobacco supply in the city.

Speaking at the meeting, Mao Jianshu, deputy general agronomist and leaf tobacco production department chief of Qujing City Tobacco Company, reported the general situation of leaf tobacco production and leaf tobacco purchase by Qujing City Tobacco Company in the current year, summarized the problems existing in leaf tobacco production and purchase, and briefed on preliminary planning of the factory for production in 2012. The representatives from 20 cigarette making enterprises attending the meeting made speeches separately, fully affirming the achievements Qujing City Tobacco Company has made in reforming the structure of leaf tobacco products so far in 2011, and saying that both the quality and purity of leaf tobacco supplied by Qujing Cigarette Tobacco Company have improved on a year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, they objectively pointed out existing problems and shortcomings, and expressed the hope that Qujing City Tobacco Company will strengthen management, adopt measures to arouse the enthusiasm of local tobacco growers and better apply production technologies and measures, in order to further improve the quality of leaf tobacco products, and provide powerful support in supplying high-quality raw materials of leaf tobacco for producing cigarettes of leading competitive brands. In an address delivered at the meeting, Director and Manager Wu Lizhu of Qujing City Tobacco Company expressed gratitude to the cigarette making enterprises for their support and understanding of Qujing City Tobacco Company over the past many years, and also for the pertinent opinions and suggestions the representatives raised at the meeting. Wu analyzed on a full scale both the advantages and disadvantages of the tobacco-growing zone in Qujing City, and pledged that Qujing City Tobacco Company will strive to renew its conception, stick to the idea that quality is the lifeline in leaf tobacco production in 2012, improve the quality of its leaf tobacco products on a full scale, promote its service provision to a higher level in an all-round way, and significantly strengthen its leaf tobacco production capacity, in efforts to provide a powerful guarantee of raw materials supply for promoting cigarette production by China's tobacco industry to a higher level.
