Altria Appoints New Board Member

W. Leo Kiely III has been elected to the board of directors of the Altria Group. Kiely's election increases the board's composition from nine to 10 directors. Kiely retired as CEO of MillerCoors, a joint venture combining the US and Puerto Rico operations of SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing Co, in July. From 1993 to 2005, Kiely held a variety of executive positions, including CEO, at Coors Brewing, and from 2005 to 2009 he served as president and CEO. Before joining Coors Brewing, Kiely held executive positions with Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, and Ventura Coastal Corp, a division of Seven Up. He is a member of the board of directors of Medpro Safety Products, and he serves on the boards of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Helen G. Bonfils Foundation. "We are pleased Leo Kiely has agreed to join our board of directors," said Michael E. Szymanczyk, chairman and CEO of Altria.
