China: Provincial Delegation Visits HongyunHonghe

A high-level delegation from Shanxi Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration in north China's Shanxi Province, which doubles as the provincial tobacco company, visited HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province on October 14, in efforts to boost bilateral cooperation in cigarette trade.

The delegation groups Director, Communist Party group Secretary and General Manager Li Zehua and Deputy General Manager Wang Zhiyi of Shanxi Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration (Provincial Tobacco Company), as well as key leaders of the various departments and subsidiaries of the Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration. The delegation was accompanied by Deputy General Manager Li Tianfei of Yunnan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation during the visit.

HongyunHonghe leaders including Yao Qingyan, Wu Yi and Xu Liwei as well as leaders of Kunming Cigarette Factory showed the delegation around Kunming Cigarette Factory - a key subsidiary to HongyunHonghe. During the visit, the two sides held in-depth talks on bilateral business cooperation. At the talks, HongyunHonghe CEO briefed the delegation on the economic operation of HongyunHonghe in the January-September period and the operational guidelines of the tobacco manufacturer over a future period of time. Wu said that the key to the development of HongyunHonghe lies in the development of competitive brands, and is based on markets. Shanxi is an important market area for HongyunHonghe in north China, with an annual market capacity of nearly 1.5 million cases (75 billion cigarettes) for HongyunHonghe alone, which, however, is still a distance away from meeting the target of HongyunHonghe for accelerating the cigarette trade business in Shanxi, Wu said. He said that in future cooperation with the Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration of Shanxi, HongyunHonghe will make efforts in the following respects: Firstly, HongyunHonghe will well plan its market development targets, and actively seek organic coordination between the "4215" business development target of HongyunHonghe with the relevant business development targets of the tobacco industry of Shanxi. Secondly, HongyunHonghe will strive to develop high-end cigarette markets in Shanxi. Thirdly, HongyunHonghe will strive to make leading specifications of its cigarette products more competitive. Fourthly, HongyunHonghe will give priority to developing markets of its Grade Two cigarette products. And fifthly, HongyunHonghe will manage to develop markets of low-tar-level cigarettes. He expressed the hope that the two sides will, through concerted efforts, further strengthen bilateral cooperation and realize a win-win situation.

Speaking on the same occasion, Director Li Zehua of Shanxi Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration said that HongyunHonghe always wins the first place in cigarette marketing in Shanxi, which means that the high quality of cigarette products of HongyunHonghe has won recognition from consumers in Shanxi. As a commercial enterprise of the tobacco industry, Shanxi Provincial Tobacco Company will definitely do all it can to support the business development of HongyunHonghe, make common progress, realize common development, and contribute to realizing the target of promoting cigarette production to a higher level by the tobacco industry of China. Meanwhile, HongyunHonghe Board of Directors Chairman Yao Qingyan made a summary speech at the talks, saying that without the care and support extended by the tobacco industry of Shanxi, HongyunHonghe would not have made the great achievements so far. He expressed the hope that in future bilateral cooperation, the tobacco industry of Shanxi will continue to support the business development of HongyunHonghe as it has always been doing, in order to realize better and more rapid business development of both sides.
