The Company was notified on 15 September 2011 by the trustee of the British American Tobacco Employee Share Ownership Plan that on 7 September 2011 the following executive director and other persons discharging managerial responsibility (together the "Participants") had purchased ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Shares") by way of the Partnership Share Scheme at a price of 2758.5 pence per Share.
