Businessman of The Year 2007 Joins PMI Board

Robert B. Polet has been elected to the board of directors of Philip Morris International. Polet's arrival brings the number of directors on the board to 11. Polet was chairman, CEO and president of the Gucci Group NV from 2004 until March 2011, prior to which he spent 26 years in a variety of executive roles in the Unilever Group. A Dutch national, born in Malaysia, Polet was named 2007 Businessman of the Year by Fortune Magazine, which cited the extraordinary results produced by his people-oriented leadership.
