A Look at Cuba's Limitadas Source from: Cigar Aficionado 09/07/2011 Every year, the Cuban cigar industry creates a trio of limited-edition cigars. Known as Edición Limitadas, each is a short run shape that draws considerable interest from Cuban cigar lovers around the world.
ELs are made with high-priming wrappers, giving them a darker appearance, with two-year old tobacco in the blend. Since 2005, there have been three per year, and we have rated all of them in Cigar Insider, our twice-monthly newsletter about the cigar business.
As the world awaits the 2011 trio of ELs (the Hoyo de Monterrey Short Hoyo Pirámide just began shipping, but the others have not) we present this table describing the ELs through the years, along with either the Cigar Aficionado or Cigar Insider rating for each cigar.
