HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - has recently been rated the second among the Top 100 enterprises in Yunnan Province for 2010, for generating 54.99 billion yuan (8.46 billion U.S. dollars) in annual sales income in the year.

On August 30, Yunnan Provincial Enterprises Federation and Yunnan Provincial Entrepreneurial Association jointly held a press conference to unveil the list of the Top 100 enterprises in Yunnan Province for 2010. Besides the rating among the Top 100, HongyunHonghe was also rated the first among the Top 30 profit earners in Yunnan Province for 2010, for generating 4.88 billion yuan (750 million U.S. dollars) in annual profits in the year. It was the sixth annual ranking of the Top 100 enterprises in Yunnan Province. Since the start of the annual ranking for 2005, HongyunHonghe and its predecessors all performed pretty well: For 2005, Kunming Cigarette Factory, Honghe Cigarette Factory and Qujing Cigarette Factory respectively took the third, fifth and ninth places. For 2006, Hongyun Group and Honghe General Cigarette Factory won the third and eighth places. For 2007, Hongyun Group and Honghe Group were ranked the third and eighth. And for both 2008 and 2009, HongyunHonghe was rated the second. For 2010, the four national-level tobacco manufacturers and support enterprises ranked among the Top 100 accounted for 18.84 percent of the annual sales income of all the Top 100 in Yunnan, which means that HongyunHonghe shoulders heavy responsibility and missions in socioeconomic development in Yunnan Province.
