High-Level Government Delegation Inspects HongyunHonghe

A high-level delegation from the provincial government of southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province inspected HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - on August 8, in checking fulfillment of the 2011-2015 five-year development plan by the tobacco industry of Yunnan.

The delegation grouped Yunnan Provincial Communist Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Provincial Governor Qin Guangrong, Deputy Provincial Governor CaoJianfang and Provincial Government Secretary-General Ding Shaoxiang.
HongyunHonghe CEO Wu Yi, on behalf of the tobacco group, reported to the delegation the situation of production and operation of HongyunHonghe from January to July, preparation for the research and development as well as promotion of the Yunyan (Dachongjiu) cigarette specification, and preparation for execution of the project of relocation and technological transformation of Honghe Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe.
Speaking during the inspection, Governor Qin Guangrong fully affirmed the achievements made by the tobacco industry of Yunnan during the 2006-2010 five-year period. For development of the provincial tobacco industry in the 2011-2015 five-year period, Qin emphasized that efforts should be focused on improving the quality and enriching the content of development, in order to usher in a new situation of green and healthy development of the tobacco industry of Yunnan.
During the inspection, the delegation particularly visited Honghe Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe. The delegation was warmly received by top leaders of HongyunHonghe, including Board of Directors Chairman Yao Qingyan, CEO Wu Yi and Communist Party Committee Secretary Xu Liwei.

When visiting workshops at Honghe Cigarette Factory, the delegation was briefed by factory Director Xu Yongming on the situation of production and operation of the factory over a recent period of time. Qin would stop in front of production lines from time to time, kindly talking with workers and asking questions about their work and living, and made in-depth inquiries about relevant matters of cigarette production at the factory.
