Production Up Sharply at Grodno Plant Source from: Tobacco Reporter 08/11/2011 The State-run Neman Tobacco Factory in Grodno, Belarus, produced 12.8 billion cigarettes during January-July, 37.9 per cent more than it produced during the corresponding period of last year, according to a Prime-Tass story quoting a company representative.
Under-contract production for British American Tobacco increased by 8.7 per cent year-on-year to 2.5 billion cigarettes, while production for Japan Tobacco International and Tobacco International Enterprises amounted to 230 million and 140 million respectively.
Also during the January-July period, Neman's shipments to retail networks increased by 29.8 per cent year-on-year to 12.7 billion cigarettes, of which 9.8 billion comprised its own brands. Enditem
